3 Very Cool Things Not In Texas, Found In Texas
Texas is the second biggest state in the USA and it's loaded with cool things. So many in fact, you can put together a 'round the world vacation here without leaving the state.
You can plan just about any kind of vacation you want and "get 'er dun" right here in Texas. Which is why an old ad campaign used to say that Texas was "like a whole other country".
Loads of great experiences, different climates and landscapes lie within the lone star state. In fact, you can even visit some famous locations, from beyond the state and the country, without ever leaving.
Seriously, want old west history and/or want to experience a desert landscape? Visit El Paso. Want to relax in the woods? Hit up the Sam Houston Forest. Like fishing? Texas is loaded with lakes.
If the ocean is your thing, Texas has plenty of beaches including one of the world's longest. If you want a Cancun kind of vibe, there's no need to travel to Mexico; we have our own.
Here are 3 other things you can experience here as opposed to leaving the state or the USA.
Paris, France Via Paris, Texas
Just as our own Cancun means you don't have to go to Mexico, having our own Eiffel Tower helps you avoid travel to France. Sure, it's a little smaller than the real one but it also sports a pretty sweet Stetson which makes it way cooler.
Salisbury Plain, England Via Odessa, Texas
Now that we've saved you trips to Mexico and Europe, let's get England off the list via a lone star Stonehenge. Yep, Texans and Texas druids alike can celebrate the solstice at the Texas Stonehenge as it, like the real one, is astronomically aligned. It's actually, almost exactly like the original ... except the columns are a tad shorter. (14%)
Hollywood, California Via Waxahachie, Texas
If you're not the "international" type, check out this domestic spot that's internationally known. The Munsters are loved worldwide and while the tv show was actually filmed at Universal Studios, you don't have to go to California to see their home.
Just head to Waxahachie but call first ... the Munster Mansion in Texas is an actual, private home so tours have to be set up ahead of time.
