Texas Teachers Snitch On Foreign Students – Ask ICE To Raid Classes
A substitute teacher in Texas has been removed from campus after asking Immigration and Customs Enforcement, (ICE), agents to raid his school on social media.
A New York Times report said that the unidentified substitute teacher goes by username @Hookem232 on "X" and wrote the message in response to an ICE arrest update on "X".
The update was regarding an ongoing ICE operation that is rounding up illegal immigrants all over the USA. The teacher wrote:
"Y'all should come to Fort Worth, TX to Northside High School. I have many students who don't even speak English, and they are in 10th-11th grade. They have to communicate through their iPhone translator with me. The @USEDGOV should totally overhaul our school system in Texas." - fox4news
The Fort Worth Independent School District released a statement saying the incident was under investigation and the teacher would not be allowed on campus until the investigation was completed.
It's Happened Before
This isn't the first time the FWISD has faced an issue like this. In 2019, an English teacher at Carter-Riverside High School in Fort Worth named Georgia Clark was fired for similar posts.
Her message asked the POTUS for help saying that the school had been taken over by illegal aliens and that she "didn't know what to do". She added that the Fort Worth Independent School district was aware of the problem but "turned a blind eye" to it.
She also asked for "protection from recrimination” if the undocumented students were actually arrested or otherwise removed from school.
