A list of the most and least educated cities in the United States of America just came out. Texas has more on the "least" side, including El Paso.

The largest 150 metropolitan areas in the country were studied for a report by wallethub. On the most educated side, only 1 Texas city made the top 10.

On the least educated side, 4 made it.

The Austin-Round Rock-Georgetown area was the only Texas metro to make the top 10 most educated cities list, coming in at #8. New Mexico and Arizona, together, only had 3 cities on the list of 150 major metros. Not surprising since Arizona only has 2 big dogs and NM only has 1.

To determine where the most educated Americans are putting their degrees to work, WalletHub compared the 150 largest metropolitan statistical areas, or MSAs, across 11 key metrics. Our data set ranges from the share of adults aged 25 and older with a bachelor’s degree or higher to the quality of the public-school system to the gender education gap. - wallethub

As far as the Texas cities cracking the least educated top 10, those (dis)honors went to Corpus Christi, (141), Beaumont-Port Authur, (143), Brownsville-Harlingen, (148) and McAllen-Edinburg-Mission, (149)

El Paso almost made the top 10 worst section, coming in at 136 while Killeen-Temple was also close at 120.

Other Texas city rankings were scattered around the "middle ground" with Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington at #72, Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land at #84 and San Antonio-New Braunfels came in 103rd.

The wallethub.com study also compared the areas with the most high school diplomas and the most associates degree holders and/or "college experienced" peeps. You can see all the details that were studied to reach all these conclusions here.
