Need A New Texas ID? Don’t Go To The DPS
If you need a new Texas driver license, ID Card or need to upgrade to a Real ID, don't bother going to a Teas Department of Public Safety office.
There's a new sheriff in town. Ok, it's not a new sheriff, it's the same old state troopers and the Texas Department of Public Safety is still handling all things driver license and ID related.
They just don't want to deal with you personally. Which I am ... and I think most everyone else in the universe is also ... totally cool with.
Texas Department of Public Safety offices have been the butt of many jokes about slow service, bad service, no service, etc, for decades. Don't give me that look DPS, you know perfectly well that almost every one of those jokes and stereotypes has some degree of truth to it.
