Lt. Governor Dan Patrick just said something insinuating that Texas Governor Greg Abbott may be all about legalizing marijuana. Something NOBODY saw coming.

Not even jokingly would anyone suggest that Governor Abbott would ever consider legalizing the ganja but his #2 pretty much just said that's what he wants to do.

The comment was sparked by Gov. Abbott's super last minute vetoing of SB 3. A bill banning all THC products strongly supported by the Lt. Gov. but unpopular among Texans.

I don't know if Lt. Gov. Patrick is just butt hurt and talking smack or if he really feels this way but I sure hope he's right. Although, based on past actions and words, I really, REALLY doubt it. Miracles do happen though ...

What Did Lt. Gov. Patrick Say?

"It puzzles me why my friend Gov. Greg Abbott would, at the last minute, about 22 minutes after 11 p.m., decide to veto this bill," Patrick said. "One can only come to this conclusion, which surprises me: the governor of the state of Texas wants to legalize recreational marijuana in Texas." - cbsnews.com


What if he's right and this is really what Governor Abbott wants? Maybe, for all these years, it's been the Lt. Governor and/or others holding the line against recreational marijuana. Governor Abbott, reading the pro pot room, may have decided to give the people what they want and let the state reap the tax benefits.

It's a fun thought to entertain, right? Being that the Governor also just voted to expand Texas' medical marijuana program, could we finally be on the brink of legal pot?

It's, (practically), already legal for El Paso - Fingers crossed ...
