Recording an album is hard work & finding the right person to help produce the album can be tough. But once you find the right person, they can elevate your album to a level far beyond what is expected. One New Mexico band may have certainly found the right person for the job to help produce their new album. That band is Go Axe Alice.

Who are Go Go Axe Alice?

Go Axe Alice is a four piece band formed in Alamogordo, New Mexico in 2014 consisting of:

  • Scott Edwards - drums,
  • Shawn Ward - bass guitar,
  • Emily Dequina -vocals, rhythm guitar

It was earlier in May that Go Axe Alice announced that they will be working on a 2nd album. But they really caught the attention of the fans by announcing they would be working with the legendary metal producer: Randy Burns. Not only is he producing the record but he'll be offering lead guitar roles too.

What bands has Randy Burns worked with?

If you've listened to Megadeth, Suicidal Tendencies, Death, Kreator or The Flaming Lips, there's a good chance you've heard Randy's work. Some of his most notable works include: Megadeth's Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?

Kreator's Coma of Souls

The Suicidal Tendencies self-titled album. And there's a handful of other albums that Randy has worked on which you can see right here.

This isn't the first time Go Axe Alice has worked with a huge name in metal

The famed bassist from Disturbed, and fellow El Pasoan, John Moyer helped mix & master their first album Illuminate. The album was recorded at Montrose Studios in Ruidoso, New Mexico. You've heard the title track occasionally on Q Connected & you can hear it down below.

When's the 2nd Go Axe Alice album coming out?

While exact dates have not been said, Emily did say they're working on a September 2023 album that's after their comeback show on September 2nd. When the new album drops, it's sure to catch the attention of their fans, and new ones, especially with a master like Randy at the controls.
