Full Disclosure: I never drive on long road trips.

And to be honest, nobody wants me to, either. Let's just say, I know my limits.

If you're like me (and hopefully you're not) there is almost nothing as anxiety-inducing as driving a highway you're unfamiliar with, particularly at night.

Even if you're an excellent driver, there's no controlling anyone else on the road, or any controlling the condition of the road, either.

Out here in West Texas, there is one particularly dangerous stretch of highway, so if you're a nervous driver, you may want to plan an alternate route.

U.S. Route 285 "Death Highway"

According to the Liggett Law Group (who would know where auto accidents happen, after all) U.S. Route 285 is by far the most dangerous stretch of highway in West Texas.

It is a rural route that runs from Carlsbad, New Mexico to Pecos, Texas, and sees tons of oil field traffic. Many commercial trucks follow this route.  However, it's not their fault the route is so dangerous.

This rural route was not built for heavy traffic and desperately needs infrastructure improvement, which would require heavy taxing in the small communities in West Texas.

Additionally, oil field workers put in long hours, and fatigue behind the wheel can be very deadly.

Some other problems include sinkholes that form on rural roads. It is up for debate whether they are caused by fracking in the area or simply because they are in bad repair.

And let me get on my soapbox for just one moment: some of y'all need to buckle your seatbelts. I know more than one person who rolled their truck and died because they wouldn't wear a seatbelt- while other people in the vehicle survived.

These are the top 10 foods most likely to be recalled, according to Consumer Reports. However, that doesn't mean you can't still enjoy them if you take steps to stay safe.
