Julyan Stone spent his senior season at UTEP playing for a new head coach. The former Miners point guard was not used to the style change and approach that Tim Floyd brought with him in 2010. However, Stone adjusted to his new system and thrived as UTEP nearly won the CUSA tournament title game.

Following his four years with the Miners, Stone spent parts of three seasons in thew NBA with the Denver Nuggets and Toronto Raptors. Just two years removed from the NBA, the 27-year old is currently playing pro basketball in Gaziantep, Turkey in the Turkish Basketball Super League and the FIBA Europe Cup. Ironically, Stone is playing against former UTEP teammate Randy Culpepper, who stars for Basiktas also in the TBSL.

Stone called into 600 ESPN El Paso's Sportstalk yesterday to offer his thoughts on playing for Coach Floyd and why so many players are transferring from Division 1 college basketball. Stone shares many of the same opinions as former Miner John Bohannon, who called into Sportstalk a few weeks back from Hong Kong to discuss the same issue.
