Bravos de FC Juarez will attempt to pull off another upset tonight when they face first division Cruz Azul in Copa MX action in Mexico City’s Azteca Stadium. The quarterfinal match in the mid week competition is scheduled to kickoff at 6pm MST.

Despite the fact that the Bravos eliminated Club America in the round of 16 last Tuesday, they come in to tonight’s competition as the underdog versus a Cruz Azul that is in first place in Liga MX. In order to advance to tonight’s quarterfinal match Cruz Azul defeated Xolos last week by the score of 2-1.

It is important to note that Bravos head coach, Gabriel Caballero, mentioned in his post match press conference on Saturday night after defeating Zacatepec in league play that the Bravos will remain in Mexico City for the remainder of the week after tonight’s match with Cruz Azul as they will face Potros on Friday night in Ascenso MX league play in the city of Toluca just an hour away from Mexico City. Caballero also mentioned that the FC Juarez ownership allowed for all of the players on the roster to travel to Mexico’s capital in order for Caballero to have all of the players at his disposal for these next two matches. Typically a team only travels with the starting 11 and a handful of potential subs.

Tonight’s match will be televised on national television here in the United States on Univision Deportes Network, Direct TV ch. 464.
