Will Ray Lewis’s Accomplishments Overshadow His Off-the-Field Issues? — Sports Survey of the Day

Ray Lewis went out the way most athletes dream of going out: as a champion. But is that how he will be remembered?
The Baltimore Ravens have now won two Super Bowls, and middle linebacker Ray Lewis was present for both of them. He’s a 13-time Pro Bowler, a two-time A.P. defensive player of the year winner, and twice an All-American in college.
Lewis also has some troubled history, though. He was acquitted of charges for his involvement in a murder in 2000, and recently he was linked to using a banned substance to recover from an injury. Whether that will overshadow a clear-cut Hall of Fame football résumé remains to be seen.
