What the Hell is Going on With the New Orleans Pelicans’ Marketing Team?

First, they introduced what was indisputable the scariest mascot in the NBA, Pierre the Pelican. Now, they’re gearing up for Mardi Gras with a devilish King Cake Baby guy. Who’s calling the shots in New Orleans?!

First, a King Cake is a ring-shaped cake served during Mardi Gras. A plastic baby is hidden inside the cake. The person who find the baby is usually asked to buy the next cake.

Think that’s bad. It’s somehow WAY worse when he’s “naked”.

To be fair, the New Orleans Pelicans did take another shot at Pierre and he’s now a much less creepy version of himself. Maybe by 2015 the Pelicans will have a version of the King Cake Baby that won’t make children cry.
