The 1966 Texas Western Miners were honored this past weekend at the Final Four in Houston for the 50th anniversary of their National Championship. The NCAA held various activities with members of the '66 team including a youth clinic, Q&A session, appearance at the 2016 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announcement, and autograph session. The team was also honored at midcourt Saturday during halftime of the North Carolina-Syracuse game.

The NCAA recorded a nice tribute to the Miner team from players and coaches in this year's Final Four. That included Oklahoma star sophomore forward Khadeem Lattin, the grandson of "Big Daddy D" David Lattin. The video is a must watch and it is also encouraging to see how many of today's current college basketball stars understand the significance of the Texas Western 72-65 win over Kentucky on March 19th 1966.
