UTEP Women’s Basketball Team Picked Fifth in Preseason Poll

Earlier today, the UTEP women's basketball team was picked 5th in Conference USA by the league's 14 head coaches. In addition, Miner seniors Jenzel Nash and Sparkle Taylor were both named to the 2016-17 C-USA Preseason Team.

Nash and Taylor will be looked upon to lead the Miners after both received All C-USA honors last season. Nash was named to the league's first team and averaged 13.8 points and 2.8 assists per game. Taylor was the Sixth-Player of the Year and averaged 9.8 points in only 17.3 minutes per game.

UTEP began practice this week in anticipation of the first exhibition game on November 4th against St. Mary's. Season tickets are still available for purchase, by calling (915) 747-6150 or e-mailing seasontickets@utep.edu.
