The Student Alumni Association (SAA) at The University of Texas at El Paso is collecting funds and honoring the victims, their families, and the entire community of Newtown, Conn. during tonight’s men’s basketball game versus Oregon.

Fans at the game will be able to write messages of condolence and support on a large UTEP banner.

Attendees will be given green ribbons to wear in support of Sandy Hook Elementary School – its colors are green and white.

Monetary donations will go toward a scholarship fund to help one of the survivors attend college.  The table will be on the concourse, outside section L, near the south entrance.

Throughout the game, SAA members will hold signs inside the arena to show UTEP’s support for the Sandy Hook victims and the community of Newtown.
