The UTEP Women's basketball team played one of their most well rounded games of the season on Saturday afternoon as they stormed past Marshall 84-74.  All five of the Miners' starters scored double digit points in the convincing victory to conclude this brief home stand.

Sparkle Taylor led all scorers for UTEP with 25 points, while both Tamara Seda and Zuzanna Puc recorded double-doubles; Seda scored 15 points to go along with 12 boards, and Puc had 12 points accompanied by 11 rebounds.  Lulu McKinney added 10 points and six assists as well.  The Miners shot 40.8 percent from the field, outrebounded the Herd 46-45, and most importantly had 23 assists on 29 made field goals, while only committing 13 turnovers.

UTEP had a tremendous second quarter scoring outburst as they tallied 30 points, their second highest total in a quarter this season, and it ranks fourth all time in the program's single-game records.  The Miners took advantage of Marshall's 19 turnovers as they scored 28 points off of the Herd's blunders.

UTEP will now play their next four conference games on the road as they face UAB next Thursday, Middle Tennessee on Saturday, then Louisiana Tech and Southern Miss the following week.  It marks the first time since they joined C-USA in 2005-06 that they are playing four consecutive league games away form the Don Haskins Center.  You can listen to all UTEP Women's basketball games on 600 ESPN El Paso.
