Multiple Sources Reporting UTEP has Hired Sean Kugler

It would appear that the UTEP football coaching search is over.

Last night ABC-7 weekend sports anchor Asher Wildman tweeted:

Just got confirmation from a very good source. Sean Kugler is next coach for the UTEP Miners.

Today, multiple media outlets are confirming that tweet.  UTEP has yet to make an official announcement, but I imagine that will be coming soon.

If Kugler is indeed the next coach of the Miners, it would confirm what a lot of people suspected; Bob Stull wanted Sean Kugler all along.

Even with no head coaching experience, Kugler would be a great hire for the Miners.  He has an investment in the team and community, as UTEP is his alma mater.  He would run a tight ship and hold players accountable.

Sean Kugler is the kind of coach that will energize the UTEP fan base.  Like his popular predecessor, he needs to win football games to keep the city's interest.
