EL PASO, Texas (AP) — Julian Washburn scored 20 points and Cedric Lang added 10 points and 13 rebounds as UTEP outshot and out-rebounded Montana State 70-55 on Monday night.

The Miners (8-5) shot 47.8 percent from the field, hitting 22 of 46 shots, out-boarded Montana State 38-28 and sank 18 of 26 free throws off 22 Bobcat fouls.

Ten players scored for the Bobcats (5-6) but Terrell Brown was the only one to reach double figures with 10 points. Montana State launched 55 shots, but hit just 19. The teams swapped the lead five times in the early going but a dunk and a layup by Vince Hunter — his only buckets of the game — started a run that saw the Miners up by 17 at halftime and as many as 20 after.

Washburn made four of UTEP's eight 3-pointers. C.J. Cooper knocked down 3 of 5 3-pointers for nine points.
