The UTEP men's basketball team received some good news earlier today when 6'6, 233-pound forward Trey Winn announced on his Twitter account that he committed to play for Tim Floyd.

Winn is an athletic player who flew under the radar last season. However, he is part of a talented group at Westwind Academy, a dynamic prep team in Phoenix that also features 7'1 center Kingsley Okoroh and 6'5 wing player Lyrik Shreiner. With Winn on board, there is a chance that Okoroh and Shreiner will follow him to UTEP. However, Louisville head coach Rick Pitino visited Shreiner and is targeting him for his 2015 recruiting class. It will be interesting to see if the guard reclassifies for 2015 to sign with Louisville or decides to take an official visit to UTEP and join his teammate, Winn in the class of 2014.

Shreiner was supposed to be in El Paso last Thursday for the Tulsa game, but cancelled his original visit to UTEP earlier last week. It was rumored that Shreiner changed his mind after speaking with Pitino. Here is a nice highlight of Winn slamming it home with a windmill dunk.
