The Dallas Cowboys were dealt another huge blow on Tuesday.  The team announced Sean Lee would have season ending surgery on his toe.  Lee is a special player, and a special guy.

I was lucky enough to meet and interview Sean Lee when he came to our annual sports and health expo last April.  He was a gentleman, and couldn't have been easier to deal with.

Lee is the quarterback of the Cowboys defense.  He calls nearly all the plays, and seldom misses a gap assignment.  Other than being injury prone, there is no weakness in his game.  He leads the team in almost every major defensive category including interceptions.

Second year linebacker Bruce Carter will now assume defensive play calling duties while fellow Nittany Lion Dan Connor will take most of Lee's snaps.  Dallas also signed veteran linebacker Ernie Sims as an insurance policy.

Lee's leadership will be sorely missed, but as the saying goes, 'next man up.'
