Since he first put on a chicken costume in March 1974, Ted Giannoulas has entertained millions of people. The Famous Chicken, now in his 40th year, will be back in El Paso this Sunday for the El Paso Chihuahuas game against Salt Lake. The Chicken joined Sportstalk earlier today to reflect on his career and making a trip back to El Paso, one of his favorite cities to perform.

"Can you believe it? 40 years and it’s been 40 years of fun. I’m telling you, I know the Rolling Stones have been doing it for 50 years but I don’t know if I can go that far. But I’ll tell you, I’ve enjoyed every moment of it."

"One of the things that I’ve learned over the years is that nobody has a greater sense of humor than the people of the United States. To laugh like we can is incredible. Have fun with your audience, enjoy them, and they will enjoy you."

"When I was a free agent chicken and was breaking out on my own, two days before my self hatching (in 1979), I came back to El Paso for a self appearance to introduce my new costume so I could get used to it."
