Week 5 and the Dallas Cowboys are resting this weekend in their bye-week. After their loss in Week 4 on Monday Night Football to the Chicago Bears, many fans have given up and lost hope. But the season is still young. As far as UTEP, they're spiriling downward and it's just the begining of conference play. As far as football goes, the majority of El Pasoans are feeling a bit bummed when it comes to their teams.

Many listeners have called in expressing similiar viewpoints, with a few optimistic calls in between, in regards to the Boys and the Miners and what they are capable of this season. Does it start at the top with Jerry Jones? With the leadership or lack-there-of in Jason Garrett? Or straight to the field with the offenseive line? Some fans blame Tony Romo and some fans protect him better than his own O-Line.

Same goes for the Miners. Is it the end for Mike Price? Granted the Miners had one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the school's history, but with just one win under their belt, it seems the team is depleted and Coach is at a loss for words. They've traveled over 5,000 miles in a nine-day-period and were glad to be back at the Sun Bowl against SMU, but their on their way to Tulsa next weekend to take on the Golden Hurricane.

While the Cowboys take a break, it doesn't get any easier as they will be on the road against the mean and tough Baltimore Ravens and then Cam Newton's Carolina Panthers.

Right now, the NFC East looks unpredictable as the Eagles are inconsistent, RGIII and his Redskins are slipping and the New York Giants are making a comeback. So as far the the Cowboys being 2-2, it's not over yet, but it's not looking good.

In Conference USA, it doesn't seem UTEP has a place at the top.
