The El Paso Chihuahuas Is A Fantastic Name For Our Baseball Team

Many people may call me crazy, and that's just fine with me, but I think that the Chihuahuas is a fantastic name for our new Triple A baseball team. 

To begin with, the name is unique, there is no other team in the country that can claim to have such a fascinating name.  Chihuahuas are cute dogs and will appeal to kids; that should be one of the primary goals of the team, after all these mighty Chihuahuas were once little leaguers too.

Most people did not expect the name of our new Triple A team to be the Chihuahuas.  Last time I checked quite a few people own these little dogs here in El Paso.  They are native to Mexico and love warm weather like we have here in El Paso.  Some will argue the other possible names were better, especially the Desert Gators.  I understand that there used to be desert gators at San Jacinto Plaza, but that was a long time ago.  The Chihuahuas is a perfect name for our new team because these dogs are actually found here and in Mexico.  Gators are not native to El Paso.

The name will grow on El Pasoans, just give it a chance.  The logo is pretty neat to say the least.  There seems to be a lot you can do with a Chihuahua.  The most important thing to remember is that Triple A baseball is coming to the Sun City real soon.  If the team can put a winning product on the field, then their name will be irrelevant.

Now El Pasoans will have to figure out how their Chihuahua bark is going to sound at the team's home games.  April will be here before you know it, you better start working on it!
