I'm sure all UTEP football have seen this ending too many times over the past eight years. A Miners team with a chance at ending their season on a high note and playing for their first bowl win since 1967. Instead, they disappoint even the most optimistic UTEP fans and end their season on a down note.

Traditionally the UTEP Miners can't buy a win in the month of November.  They defeated East Carolina for the first time ever on Saturday night 22-17.  The win couldn't of come at a better time as the Miners ended a 2 game losing streak.

On Saturday night, October 29th, the UTEP Miners hosted Southern Miss in a C-USA showdown. The Golden Eagles won the game 31-13.

What a difference a few weeks can make in a college football season. At that time, the Miners were 4-3 and the team had exceeded most preseason expectations.

UTEP met up with old WAC rival Colorado State Saturday night at the Sun Bowl.  The game was homecoming for the Miners and 31,000 fans were entertained to a 31-17 UTEP win.

The Miners gave their fans the type of performance they have been begging for yesterday afternoon in New Orleans. They dominated both sides of the ball, thoroughly destroyed their C-USA opponent, and ended a 12-game conference road losing streak against Tulane.

UTEP and Houston met in a rare Thursday night college football showdown at the Sun Bowl.  The game was nationally televised on the CBS Sports Network, but just 24,111 fans turned our for the rivalry match-up.

On Saturday night, UTEP and NMSU met in the Annual Battle of I-10. The game was a low-scoring defensive struggle, and the Miners rallied to win the game by a final score of 16-10.

Saturday night, the UTEP Miners began the 2011 football season at the Sun Bowl against Stony Brook. Despite competing in the FCS, the Division 1-AA Seawolves gave UTEP all they could handle.

With the football season a month away, people are wondering how many football games the Miners will win this season? I do not have the answer to that question, but I can tell you that this year's UTEP football poster was ranked #1 in the nation by Bleacher Report.
