Houston Knocks Off UTEP in an Offensive Thriller

When Houston and UTEP meet every year you never know what to expect.  This trend continued as the 2 teams met for a rare Thursday night game at the Sun Bowl.  Houston won the game 49-42 in front of a rather thin crowd of 24,111.  It's a shame that more people didn't show up becasue they missed remarkable offensive performances by both squads as they combined for 1,248 total yards.

UTEP Football – Game 5 vs. Houston [PHOTOS]

UTEP and Houston met in a rare Thursday night college football showdown at the Sun Bowl.  The game was nationally televised on the CBS Sports Network, but just 24,111 fans turned our for the rivalry match-up.

Saturday night, the UTEP Miners began the 2011 football season at the Sun Bowl against Stony Brook. Despite competing in the FCS, the Division 1-AA Seawolves gave UTEP all they could handle.
