Because of the incident, a risk and safety management committee will meet next month to reconsider the rules on blocking shots, among other concerns. Fundytus was wearing a neck protector at the time of the accident.

“I can assure you it will be there,” Glen McCurdie, Hockey Canada’s vice president of member services, said. “We will take an incident such as this and see what can be done.”
