Violent NHL Playoffs Get Taiwanese News Animation [VIDEO]

You'd think with it's biggest star out most of the season with concussion problems that hockey would be a little more careful. Nope. This year's Stanley Cup Playoffs have been so physical and full of cheap shots, it got the attention of those Taiwanese news animation people who made a video, complete with fighting Penguins, explosions and fans being sprayed by brains and guts. The NHL Is Realigning to Form Four Conferences As Early As Next Season

The NHL is realigning its conferences. Six divisions could turn into four conferences as early as next season, if the NHL Players’ Association approves, commissioner Gary Bettman said.

Teams will be divided up by four conferences based on geography, two with eight teams and two with seven.

NHL Player Jason Demers Punches Linesman Square in the Face [VIDEO]

The NHL certainly hasn't lost its fight: San Jose Sharks defenseman Jason Demers was trying to punch Dallas Stars center Steve Ott when linesmen Brian Mach jumped between the two of them in an attempt to break up the fight.

For doing his job, the official got a knuckle sandwich right in the jaw.  The incident took place on Saturday, and so far the NHL has declined to take action against Demers for the ref-slugging, which did appear to be completely accidental. Only in hockey.
