South Carolina Dismisses QB Stephen Garcia from Team
Stephen Garcia, South Carolina’s troubled on-again/off-again quarterback, has been dismissed from the team following his latest violation of team rules.
The fifth-year senior started 34 games for the Gamecocks, including four this year. However, he was benched for last week’s game in favor of sophomore Connor Shaw.

Arizona Fires Head Coach Mike Stoops
University of Arizona officials announced Monday night that they have fired head football coach Mike Stoops after seven-and-a-half years at the helm in Tucson.
The Wildcats are off to a 1-5 start this year, with their lone win coming against FCS Northern Arizona. Dating back to last season, Arizona has lost 10 straight games to FBS teams by an average of almost 17 points per game.
No Florida Team Appears in Top 25 for First Time Since 1982
Since the 1982 season ended, one of the constants in college football had been a seemingly perpetual dominance by the Florida schools.
In the last 29 years, Florida, Florida State and Miami took up residence at the top of the college football polls and won nine national championships in that stretch. But that all came to an end this week when, for the first time since December 6, 1982, there were no Florida schools ranked in the AP Top 25.
