While we are less than two months away from the start of baseball season and Chihuahuas Mania in El Paso, there is a little problem developing in the Phoenix suburb of Maryvale. This issue does not involve members of the Triple-A baseball team: they are safe and headed to Spring Training in Peoria. However, Maricopa County Animal Care and Control told ABC Affiliate KNXV-TV in Phoenix that overpopulation has led to stray Chihuahuas running loose all over Maryvale. Animal Control has received thousands of calls from residents in the area, who have reported seeing the little attack dogs on the streets. They are asking residents to "safely" contain the Chihuahuas in their yard, so Animal Control will have an easier time picking up the dogs. ABC15 had more on the Chihuahuas problem in a special report.
