This second installment of my 2012 Spring Training Tour features San Francisco Giants closer Brian Wilson. The 30-year old pitcher is a mainstay for the Giants and his trademark beard continues to grow as long as ever. The Irish fireballer met the media last Wednesday after an inning against the Cleveland Indians and discussed pitcching on St. Patrick's Day.

It has not been an easy offseason for Wilson, who was forced to not pick up a baseball for months. Wilson, who missed six weeks in 2011 due to injury, explains why he was frustrated with his rehabilitation program.

During his offseason workouts, Wilson tried to get his heart rate to the exact rhythm as when he takes the mound to pitch. He discussed it further with me and the rest of the gathered media.

In case you are wondering how long The Beard would like to continue playing in Major League Baseball, Wilson's answer should come as no surprise. The guy is one of the best competitors you will find anywhere in sports.
