The Sacramento River Cats took advantage of three Chihuahuas errors in a seven-run seventh inning in their 14-5 win over El Paso on Friday night at Raley Field. The Chihuahuas scored once in the sixth and three times in the seventh to go ahead 4-3, but Sacramento’s 11 late runs led to a lopsided defeat for El Paso.

Adam Moore continued his hot hitting in the loss. The Chihuahuas’ catcher went 2-for-5 and now has five multi-hit games in his last six contests. Brooks Conrad went 2-for-5 with a double, his eighth of the season, the third best total in the Pacific Coast League. The opening pitch temperature was 52 degrees and the game was played through occasional rain showers throughout the night.

Jeff Francoeur pitched one third of an inning, his third appearance on the mound this season. Francoeur has yet to allow a run or hit in 2.1 innings of work.

The first Chihuahuas run was singled home by Travis Buck.

After fighting back, the Chihuahuas take the lead on the second straight River Cats error.
