In an expected move, the New Orleans Saints have cut veteran safety Kurt Coleman according to multiple reports, and first reported by Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network.

Coleman, 30, just finished the 1st year of a 3 year deal he signed last March.

The team will save $4 million in salary cap space for 2019, though his contract will still count for $3 million in dead money against the cap.

Beginning the season as the starter at strong safety, Coleman lost more playing time as the year progressed, being surpassed by Vonn Bell.

Coleman didn't log a single defensive snap in the playoff win against the Eagles, and only saw on the field in the playoff game versus the Rams when Bell missed a small portion of the game dealing with an injury.
