This is just so cool. Last night, the Sacramento Kings held a slam dunk contest at halftime of their 129-128 double overtime loss to Charlotte. What made this dunk contest unique was that it featured little kids slamming on a plastic hoop and rim. The winning dunker demonstrated a move that would make even Michael Jordan proud.

This is the perfect kind of halftime promotion that UTEP should copy for one of their men's games. Especially when fans complain that halftime shows are boring and there's no imagination. Promos like Burrito Man, Pizza Man, and the blimp dropping cash from years past are still talked about from El Pasoans who regularly attended Miners games in years past. A Kids Slam Dunk Contest is a good start.
