The El Paso Rhinos saved the best for last. After downing the Long Beach Bombers Friday, 3-1, then losing by the same score Saturday, the Rhinos picked the rubber match to unload on Long Beach winning 7-1 Sunday afternoon.

Chaseton Sare and Arturas Laukaitis scored twice in the win while El Paso goalie Tymen Edelkoort III stopped 32 of 33 shots to become the first Western States Hockey League netminder to reach 20 wins.

Long Beach remains tied with the Valencia Flyers atop the WSHL's Western Division with 65 points, dropping to 32-5-1.

The Rhinos improved to 29-6-2 and earned their 60th point putting them two behind Mid-Western Division-leading Oklahoma City going into a critical six-game series with the Blazers.

El Paso will travel to OKC this weekend for three games, then play host to the Blazers in two weeks for another three, Feb. 10-12. Friday's and Saturday's games will start at 7:30 p.m. MST, Sunday's starts at 4:30 p.m.
