By now, many of you have heard the news about comedian Charlie Murphy passed away from leukemia at the age of 57. The brother of Eddie Murphy was made famous by appearing on Dave Chappelle's Show from 2003-2006. Charlie's True Hollywood Stories were some of funniest segments on Chappelle's Show, and one of my favorites was Murphy recalling the time when Prince challenged him to a game of basketball.

"Prince had on a Zorro-type outfit with ruffles that came down the front," Murphy said in his tale about the famed pop singer. The two met at a night club before Prince invited him back to his house and later a game of hoops followed by some pancakes.

Years later, Prince gave an interview where he confirmed the basketball story.

I had a chance to meet Charlie on multiple occasions when he was in El Paso to perform at Bart Reed's Comic Strip Night Club. He will be sorely missed but his True Hollywood Stories will live on in infamy.
