It's one of the scariest scenes in sports; an unsuspecting fan getting struck by a ball during a game. It happened last night in Pittsburgh when a female fan at PNC Park had her back turned toward the field and was struck by a foul ball from the Cubs' Starlin Castro. The ball hit the protective netting, but the force was strong enough to hit the woman in the back of the head. She immediately fell to the ground and the game was delayed 23-minutes while PNC Park personnel and EMT workers attended to her. Players and fans were horrified by the frightening scene, but the fan was conscious and gave the thumbs up sign as she was taken off on a stretcher to a local hospital.
