The New York Giants have just given Olivier Vernon the biggest contract for a defensive end. The Giants have agreed to pay the former Miami Dolphin player $85 million dollars for 5 years with $52.5 million of it guaranteed.

The addition of Vernon to the Giants gives them a solid front four on defense. Vernon will join and Jason Pierre-Paul, Damon Harrison and Johnathan Hankins. Earlier Wednesday, the Giants upgraded the back end of their defense with the signing of Janoris Jenkin who is now the NFL's second-highest paid cornerback.

It seems that the Giants are following the model that the Denver Broncos used to win Super Bowl 50.
