For the first time ever, UTEP fans will have an opportunity to work in conjunction with the athletic department. The university announced this week the creation of a Fan Council, which will help ensure a better game day experience. UTEP Director of Athletics Jim Senter is establishing the fan council to extend the continuation of improving things at sporting events based on initial feedback that the school received during their town hall meetings. The council will be made up of 30 individuals who will make recommendations and work with the athletic department to implement their suggestions.

Miner fans can apply online to join the Fan Council and registration closes on May 18th. Members will be assigned a one, two, or three year term based on random drawing and meetings will be held quarterly starting in June. This is another major step from UTEP that will help bring fans closer to the athletic department and continue to build on the positive momentum that Senter has brought with him since taking over as Director of Athletics late last year.
