New ESPN Addition Vanessa Huppenkothen Is ‘En Fuego’
Vanessa Huppenkothen is the latest addition to ESPN family. The “Worldwide Leader In Sports” has brought Huppenkothen on board after being let go from Mexican television giant Televisa back in March of 2016.
The Mexican born Huppenkothen of who is of German decent officially join the company headquartered in Bristol, Connecticut on July 5th. She will be working for ESPN Deportes which is ESPN's Spanish-speaking network here in the United States and ESPN Mexico doing a number of different assignments on camera. Huppenkothen made her debut co-anchoring SportsCenter last night. Her dismissal from Televisa came after the powers that be began to clear house since shortly after the 2014 World Cup when rival network TV Azteca beat them in the ratings war for the world's largest sporting event that saw Televisa Deportes chief Javier Alarcon fired. Huppenkothen herself had not made any appearances for Televisa since November of 2015 but was still under contract and being paid by Televisa.
Huppenkothen won the Miss Mexico crown back in 2007. Shortly thereafter she went into sports media. She has covered the 2008 Summer Olympics, the 2010 & 2014 FIFA World Cups and every Super Bowl since 2007 for Televisa Deportes. Her two favorite sports team are FC Schalke 04 from Germany & Pachuca from Mexico. Both soccer teams.
It will interesting to see how long it will take before the bosses at Bristol decide to introduce Huppenkothen to the English speaking audience here in the states.
