MLB Beat Writer Corey Brock Talks San Diego Padres Baseball

Longtime San Diego Padres beat writer Corey Brock joined Sportstalk yesterday to talk Friars baseball. Brock, who writes for MLB.com, discussed a variety of topics, including the call-up of Jake Goebbert to San Diego and the sudden resignation of Chihuahuas' hitting coach Jacque Jones.

"It's really an interesting week, especially going back to Monday with the passing of Tony Gwynn."

"The first thing I asked when I saw (Goebbert) today was 'I guess some guys will do anything to get out of playing in Iowa.' He's excited to be here and I think he's going to get a chance to play a little bit."
