Mitchell Marcus’ Magical Moment Makes SportsCenter [VIDEO]

Congratulations to Mitchell Marcus, to Coronado High School and Peter Morales, to Jonathon Montañez and the Franklin Cougars -- you did it. You made SportsCenter.

Mitchell, the special needs student and T-Birds' student manager, got the call to suit up from Coach Morales before the big rivalry game against Franklin. In the closing seconds of a 10-point game, Marcus had a pass go off his hands out of bounds. His dream of scoring a basket for Coronado was about to disappear.

Throwing the ball in for the Cougars, Montañez decided on his own to turn the ball back over to Marcus and let him score. It took a few more tries, but score he did, setting off a mob scene at Coronado High.

It also set off a nationwide wave of support, got the event featured on the CBS Evening News and finally got Mitchell's Moment on SportsCenter Thursday morning.
