LeBron James has been accused of not showing up in crunch time of the NBA Finals. He may want to consider not showing up in Peoria, Illinois on Thursday, as well.

The Peoria Chiefs, Class A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, will hold a “LeBron James NBA Championship Replica Giveaway Night” on Thursday when they host the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.

Replica championship rings James won will be handed out to fans upon entering the stadium. Since James and the Heat didn’t win the title the promotion means fans will actually receive nothing.

Highlights of the Chicago Bulls’ six championships will play during the course of the game and the Chiefs will hit the field to ‘Sirius,’ the song the Bulls used when being introduced.

The Chiefs won’t stop there with the James-bashing, though. The team has expressed an interest in skipping the fourth inning, if possible – a dig at how James disappeared in the fourth quarter of each of the six Finals’ games, where he tallied a combined 18 points. The team released a statement saying, “We aren’t sure if the league will allow it. But if LeBron doesn’t need to show up for the fourth, maybe we won’t either.”

To honor his performance, the team plans to give away a replica of James’ Finals MVP Award, which, in reality, was won by Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki.

The Chiefs will also offer classes in performing the Heimlich maneuver so people don’t choke “in a big situation.”

It sure sounds like it’s going to be a long off-season for the King, wouldn’t you say?
