Miners return to the Don for NIT?

It is possible that UTEP could return to the Don Haskins Center to play a second round NIT game. In order for that to happen, the Miners would have to defeat New Mexico tonight and Coastal Carolina would also need to upset Alabama. Othwise, it is on to Tuscaloosa. The Chanticleers did finish the season with a whopping 28-5 record, but failed to win the Big South tournament. Alabama won 21 games this season and is a number 1 seed, but I can easily see an upset brewing here. I hope the Miners deliver a big win tonight against a Lobos team that defeated BYU twice this season. UTEP head coach Tim Floyd has expressed an interest in renewing the annual series with UNM, so tonight’s game should be fun.
