It started out as an interview with one of his childhood baseball heroes and turned into a new book that is getting rave reviews. Author Michael Leahy joined Sportstalk today to discuss his new book. The Last Innocents: The Collision of the Turbulent Sixties and the Los Angeles Dodgers tells the story of seven players who were part of great success on the field but at the same time battled tremendous adversity off the field.

Leahy explained to 600 ESPN El Paso how his lengthy interview with Maury Wills inspired him to write the book, which was released May 10th. He also described his conversations with Sandy Koufax as well as how Bob Oswald, the older brother of Lee Harvey, was prominently featured in his book. The Last Innocents is available at Barnes and Noble and on Amazon.com.
