Mexico qualified for the World Cup after defeating New Zealand 4-2 in Wellington.  It was the second leg of an inter-continental playoff. Without question it was a challenging road for team Mexico to qualify for the World Cup.  For a while it looked like they weren't even going to play in Brazil next Summer.  Oribe Paralta, the hero in the first leg, scored a first-half hat trick to help Mexico avoid what would have been by far the worst loss in history for El Tri, which narrowly made the playoffs during the final minute of the final CONCACAF matchday thanks to the rival United States. Mexico went through four coaches in the past 2 months and it is estimated that the nation and federation would have lost around $1 billion in sponsors had they not qualified for the World Cup.  Here is a video showing Mexico's huge 4-2 win over New Zealand.
