A few weeks back, we launched a new contest for our listeners, the Team 600 Fan of the Week. The concept is simple: give everyone an opportunity to contribute to Sportstalk. Our fans could be a part of the show by calling in, emailing us, connecting with us on Twitter, and also sending us story leads. One listener has embodied the Team 600 Fan of the Week award and his name is Ying Yang Samurai. YYS as we like to refer to him is a very mysterious individual and has spent months keeping his identity hidden from the rest of our 600 ESPM El Paso listeners. However, he was nice enough to send us a pic and short description about himself.

21st Century Samurai: spiritual sports dude, who lives by the samurai code. Been a SportsTalk listener from the days of Jon Teicher till now. Biggest dream is owning my two favorite teams: Cowboys & Lakers. To all El Pasoans support EP sports at all levels including my spiritual brothers THE TEAM 600 TEAM-Steve & Chad.

YYS has been a huge part of the Team 600 Twitterverse and has also sent us a ton of story leads that have turned into great blogs. They included the classic video of the female Alabama fan ambushing the Oklahoma fan, Mike DItka falling asleep on NFL Countdown, and a fan wearing a "Dallas Sucks" shirt thrown down the stairs at FedEx Field. For being our first Team 600 Fan of the Week, YYS wins a $25 Cinemark gift card and a pair of IMAX movie admissions from Premiere Cinemas at Bassett Place.

Throughout 2014, we will be awarding other listeners our Team 600 Fan of the Week. The more active you are calling into the show, emailing us, Tweeting @600espnelpaso, connecting with us on Facebook, or sending us story leads will enter you into the contest.
