If you grew up a pro wrestling fan in the 1980s or 1990s, then you are probably familiar with Jake "The Snake" Roberts. The master of the DDT starred in the WWE from 1986 through 1997 and his life away from the ring was not nearly as glamorous as his in-ring success. In fact, Roberts hit rock bottom from years of alcohol and drug addiction, until fellow wrestler Diamond Dallas Page was able to help him recover and get sober. Now, Jake tours around the country sharing his wrestling stories with fans while comedian and roommate Alex Koolaid Ansel entertains fans in comedy clubs.

Roberts and Ansel are in El Paso tonight and will entertain fans at The Comic Strip. The show starts at 8 p.m. and doors open at 6:30 p.m. You can order tickets online at laff2nite.com. Roberts sat down with me this morning to discuss some of his career highlights, his struggles out of the ring, and how his unspoken word tour helps him and others.

Here are some highlights of Jake from his wrestling career, his WWE Hall of Fame induction speech from 2014, and the trailer to his hit documentary The Resurrection of Jake The Snake, which is available on Netflix.
