A Billings, Montana hospital denied a patient’s demand for prescription painkillers, so the patient did the only logical thing — he shot himself in the ankle.

The unidentified patient was being treated in the Holy Rosary Healthcare Emergency Room for “severe back pain” and wanted some heavy duty painkillers, but the hospital refused to give him the drugs he requested.

That’s when inspiration kicked in — he went out to the parking lot, grabbed a handgun and fired a bullet into his ankle. The facility went into lock-down and paramedics air-lifted him to a nearby hospital. Police are reviewing the case to determine if criminal charges are necessary.

That’s a rather rash way to get painkillers. All he had to do was eat the hospital food and they would have drugged him up for sure.
