ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — The Detroit Lions have acquired wide receiver Golden Tate, their top target in free agency.

Tate posted on his Twitter account Wednesday: "Wow I'm officially a Detroit #Lion. Extremely excited about the opportunity to grow with this organization."

He got a five-year deal is worth $31 million with $13.25 million guaranteed, according to a person familiar with the negotiations. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the deal had not been announced.

Tate was the Super Bowl-winning Seattle Seahawks' top receiver last season. The Lions were looking for someone to complement All-Pro receiver Calvin Johnson, and they landed him on the second day of free agency.
