More than eight years after he slugged it out with Tony Escalante, Juarez boxer Mickey Roman challenges Miguel Berchelt for the WBC Super Featherweight title, Saturday November 3rd at the Don Haskins Center. The fight will be streamed on ESPN+ and the presenting sponsor for the event is attorney Thomas J. Henry. Both fighters were in El Paso yesterday for the press conference announcing the title showdown. Roman (60-12, 47 KOs), who has fought professionally for 15 years, is excited about the opportunity to challenge Berchelt for the title. Along with his translator, Jaime Quintana, Roman talked to 600 ESPN El Paso about how his career has changed since the Escalante fight in 2010.

Berchelt (34-1, 30 KOs) captured the WBC Super Featherweight title on January 28th 2017, when he knocked out Francisco Vargas in the 11th round. The native of Cancun who now lives in Mérida expects a similar result at the Don Haskins Center when he meets Roman.

The November 3rd event is promoted by Top Rank, in association with Zanfer Promotions and Promociones del Pueblo. Tickets priced at $35, $45, $75, $150, and $250 go on sale this Friday at Ticketmaster locations. The remainder of the fight card will be announced in the coming weeks.
