Juan Oramas pitched well in his return to the El Paso rotation Monday, allowing two runs in six innings of work in the Chihuahuas 6-2 victory over the Omaha Storm Chasers at Werner Park. Oramas was transferred to El Paso before Monday’s game to fill the rotation spot of Odrisamer Despaigne, who started Monday’s game for San Diego.

The Chihuahuas got on the board first when Adam Moore hit a solo home run in the second inning. Omaha collected three consecutive hits in a two-run, third inning rally but El Paso pushed ahead to stay in their three-run fifth inning. The Chihuahuas scored two unearned runs in the fifth, taking advantage of throwing error by Omaha starter John Lamb and a passed ball by catcher Jesus Flores.

El Paso scored two insurance runs in the ninth when Cody Decker hit a line drive home run to left and Tyler Greene knocked a ground ball, RBI single. Decker went 3-for-4 with a double and his second longball of the series. Keyvius Sampson, Bobby LaFromboise and Branch Kloess all pitched scoreless innings out of the El Paso bullpen. The Chihuahuas have won two of the first three games in Omaha.

This solo home run from Adam Moore started the night for the Chihuahuas.

The bases were loaded in the seventh with the Chihuahuas up 4-2 and a sweet double play got El Paso out of the jam.

Cody Decker helped seal the win in the ninth with this home run.
